The Story
My first job is being a mom. But I wear many hats. So between diaper changes, play dates, and meal prep, I write stories, play board games, and make things to bring joy to others. (I do sleep. Sometimes.)
What began as a hobby has turned into a passion project. I planted the seeds of a novel and found it growing towards publication. But since my first and most important job doesn’t pay in the worldly way, I’ve branched out to find other ways to keep doing what I love, writing.
Every purchase from my shop goes towards publishing costs for my novel. It may not seem like much, but it’s a way for me to do what I love by doing something else I love.
Behind the Name
Remembrance and Sacrifice
The poppy is often known for its association with fallen soldiers. Historically, poppies were the first growth that covered war-torn battlefields. Such a connection has led to the flower being a symbol of remembrance and hope for the future.
The significance of myrrh goes back even farther in history to ancient times. A key ingredient in the anointing oil of the Tabernacle of Yahweh, myrrh was holy to the Israelites. Not only this, but it was used for embalming the dead. Because of this association, it symbolized the crucifixion when the wise men gifted it to the infant Christ.
So why these two elements? Because my goal in all things is to glorify God. And by remembering Jesus’ sacrifice, I remind myself that every act is one of worship for my King.
